Saturday's Excerpt – Heart's Desire

The wind picked up and a cool breeze enveloped them just as the stars rapidly disappeared behind a band of dark clouds. Lightning flashed in the sky.

"Wow! The weather sure changed quickly," Vanessa observed.

Emma studied the sky. "Looks like we’re in for a bad one. Probably what they predicted for last night. We’d better put the fire out and get back inside the cabin before it starts raining."

Vanessa followed Emma’s lead and began scrambling to throw piles of dirt on the fire. They’d just doused it when a deafening crack of thunder rumbled across the sky followed by the first cold drops of rain.

"Come on," Emma said grabbing Vanessa’s hand as a bright flash of lightening zigzagged across the sky lighting the path in front of them.

They were almost to the cabin when Emma’s boot caught under a dead tree root and she went sprawling face first onto the ground. Excruciating pain shot through her ankle.

Emma made up the bed and then slipped between the sheets anticipating the night of passion Vanessa promised. She gazed at the fire in the fireplace. The soft glowing light from the flames provided the perfect ambiance. It also took the chill off the cabin, but soon Vanessa’s naked flesh next to hers would give her all the warmth she desired. Emma had remembered to bring a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. She had them set out on a small table next to the bed. She smiled as she thought about the romantic night that awaited them. As soon as Vanessa was finished showering, their night would begin.

The bathroom door opened and Vanessa stepped out. She smiled seductively at Emma. Emma’s breath caught in her throat. No matter how many times she saw Vanessa naked, her tantalizing beauty always captivated her. Vanessa’s long blonde hair fell forward over her shoulders covering part of her well-rounded breasts. Emma grew hotter as Vanessa moved seductively toward the bed.

Saturday's Excerpt – Heart's Desire

"Not a star in the sky tonight," Emma said. "And no street lights, or neon signs, City girl," she teased. "That’s why I left the car lights on…just until we get inside of the cabin." She shivered. "It’s getting chilly."

"Okay, let’s get inside and turn up the thermostat," Vanessa said. "Then I have something else on my mind."

"A one track mind. But I love it," Emma said giving Vanessa’s arm a squeeze. "Mr. Parker said there’s electricity and running water, but the only heat will be from the fireplace. He did assure me that there should be more than enough wood to last us through the weekend." She guided Vanessa up the steps to the cabin’s wide-open porch. She inhaled deeply. "It’s so refreshing." She stood for a minute staring out into the dark as she filled her lungs with the pure air. "Too bad it wasn’t warmer. It would be nice to sit out here on the porch."

Vanessa grinned. "I guess you weren’t kidding when you said we’d be in the middle of nowhere."

"Having second thoughts?" Emma’s eyes narrowed.

"Not on your life!" She spread her arms wide. "I feel so free. All the problems of the world seem so far away and unimportant."

Emma gave Vanessa’s arm another squeeze. "Good, because this is definitely total isolation. No one will disturb us." She shivered. "Let’s get inside now and light a fire." She unlocked the door and pushed it open. "Wait a second. Let me find the light switch." She felt around the wall and when her hand encountered it, she flicked it on. It was a low watt bulb, but cast a soft glow over the room. She frowned. It was a clean cabin, but very crude, with sparse furnishings. She steeled herself for Vanessa’s reaction as she held the door wide for Vanessa to pass through.

Saturday's Excerpt – Heart's Desire

Vanessa took her time making her way to the bed where Emma's outstretched arms welcomed her. Emma's firm perky breasts peeked out from the top of the blanket. Vanessa licked her lips in anticipation of the luscious naked body that awaited her. Her eyes focused on Emma's large hardened nipples. She wondered if they were hard because of the slight chill in the room or because of sexual arousal. Maybe a little of both, but she intended to find out right now.

As Emma wrapped her arms around Vanessa's neck, Vanessa caught her bottom lip between her teeth and then gave her a long lingering kiss before stretching out next to her. She loved Emma's freshness, the way she stood up for her beliefs, her unwavering courage to go after what she wanted, her confidence with her sexuality, but mostly the chemistry between them. That was what had attracted her to Emma from the very beginning. Just looking at her from across a room instantly made Vanessa yearn for her. Their differences made their bond stronger.

Saturday's Excerpt – Heart's Desire

"I'm sorry. I just—"

"Want everything to be perfect for me because that's what you think I expect," Vanessa finished for her. "Well, it's not. I've never been able just to let go and not be under a microscope. This is the first time in my life no one is around to judge me. Please, let me enjoy this, honey." Her eyes softened. "Now, let's get the car unloaded." She tilted her head in the direction of the large bed. "Then I know how I'd like to begin our weekend," she added with a wicked grin.

Saturday's Excerpt – Heart's Desire

"Well, in my case, I think it'll be fun to give up some of my creature comforts for a couple of days just to be totally alone with you." She flashed a wicked smile. "If I get bored, then you can be my toy. I can think of a lot of ways to have fun playing with you."

Emma licked her lips. "Such a wicked one-track mind you have, but I must admit that it would be my pleasure submitting to all your desires." Her eyes roamed up and down Vanessa's pantyhose-clad legs. "Do you have any idea how hot I get just looking at you? How excited I get every time I hear your key in the door?"

It was a clean cabin, but very crude with sparse furnishings. She steeled herself for Vanessa’s reaction as she held the door wide for Vanessa to pass through. No matter what Vanessa said to assure her that she was excited to be staying in a cabin for the weekend, the true test would be Vanessa’s reaction when she actually saw where she’d be living for a couple of days. "Here we are."

"It’s one big room. How cute!" Vanessa exclaimed as her eyes scanned the interior. She walked to a door on the side of the room and pulled it open.

The glow from the bare light bulb hanging in the center of the main room gave enough light for Emma to see that the bathroom light had another bare light bulb with a string attached, but no wall switch to activate it. She walked to the bathroom and watched as Vanessa pulled the string. In the dim glow of the bulb, Emma saw a tiny stall for showering, a small sink, and a toilet. A plain mirror hung above the sink with a crude wooden shelf under it to hold toiletries.

"This is better than some of the cabins I’ve been in. At least this one has electricity and running water," Emma said in an upbeat tone. She was certain that the bathroom would definitely be a turnoff for Vanessa.

"It’s fine, honey," Vanessa said. "I really like it." She lifted a suggestive eyebrow as she turned to Emma. "Just think, we can lie in bed and watch the fire. It’s going to be so romantic."

Emma was surprised at Vanessa’s upbeat reaction. She pulled at her chin. "Still, I was hoping for something just a little nicer with a few more amenities since this is your first time camping." She looked at the makeshift furnishings. Everything looked handmade. "Mr. Parker said he used to bring his sons here for hunting trips when they were younger, but since they’ve grown and moved away, he rarely comes up here."

Vanessa threw her arms around Emma’s neck. "I love it, honey. Please quit apologizing. You promised."

"Are you sure? You’re not just saying that for my sake?" Emma asked anxiously. "Because I would understand if you want to go back home."

Vanessa shook her head back and forth. Her eyes darkened. "I want to stay, Em. I’m excited about this adventure. However, if you don’t stop apologizing and being so negative, I won’t enjoy myself. If you’re going to act this way all weekend, then no, I won’t want to stay. I’m trying to show you that I want to be a part of all those things you used to love to do, but haven’t been able to do in a long time. I might not enjoy everything you like, but I do like being out here. I’ve never felt so peaceful," Vanessa replied. "I want to share this with you."

"I’m sorry. I just—"

"Want everything to be perfect for me because that’s what you think I expect," Vanessa finished for her. "Well, it’s not. I’ve never been able just to let go and not be under a microscope.
