Saturday's Excerpt – The Necklace

Skye's closeness felt like Lara had just stuck her finger in an electrical outlet. She could almost see the sparks shooting out of her body. Her voice caught in her throat.

"You're burning up with fever!" Skye said, alarmed. "Do you want me to drive you to the ER?"

"No," Lara finally choked out. She looked into Skye's eyes. "I'm not sick. Ian doesn't understand."

"Understand what? Did you two have a fight?"

She nodded, then took the tissues Skye handed her and dabbed at her eyes before blowing her nose.

"Ian's just worried about you, Lara." Her eyes moved to the jewelry box. "It's still glowing and even brighter than before."

"Ian wants me to get rid of it…he thinks my grandmother was crazy."

Saturday's Excerpt – The Prize

Starlyn stood at the edge of the makeshift judging platform in the large backroom of TM’s. She was dressed in a tight short skirt and lowscooped shirt, which gave a tempting view of her voluptuous breasts. Standing confidently in her stilettos, she made Micki want to run her hands slowly up those long legs. She felt the burning heat between her legs and knew she’d better get her mind off of Starlyn and onto the race.

"You ladies know the rules. Is everyone ready?"

Micki watched as Starlyn’s gaze moved down the line of contestants and when her eyes met Micki’s, Starlyn quickly looked away.

Saturday's Excerpt – Out Of Control

"No. I’m hoping that once you and Molly get to know each other better, you’ll come to your senses where Chelsea’s concerned. Molly doesn’t sleep around."

Her eyes widened. "Neither do I, Stel."

Stella eyed her warily. "Loneliness can sometimes make a person react

uncharacteristically. Take the time to get to know Molly. She loves a lot of the same things you do, reading, poetry and she loves the theater almost as much as you do."

"I want to know her, Stel," Alex said quietly as they observed Molly heading toward them with a wide grin on her pretty face. "I won’t ever hurt her. You know that. And thank you for not mentioning Chelsea to her."

Stella squeezed her elbow. "I know you wouldn’t deliberately hurt anyone, sweetie, but still be careful."
